As a young Black woman, mother and higher-ed professional, Lashrecse experienced the same struggles as many across the district. She grew up experiencing and overcoming hardship firsthand and has seen personally how gun violence affects our communities. She knows how destructive failing schools can be on educators and especially our children. In the House of Delegates, Lashrecse fought to provide more funding for our schools, more economic opportunities for our communities, and pushed to make our criminal justice system fairer. Lashrecse is endorsed by countless leaders, elected officials, and organizations including EMILY's List, UNITE HERE, Planned Parenthood VA, and the entire Democratic women’s caucus in the Senate.

Steve Descano is the current Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney and ran successfully in 2019 on a progressive criminal justice reform platform. He is a former federal prosecutor, husband, father, and proud Democrat. Steve’s vision for Fairfax County is based on the knowledge that safety and justice go hand in hand. Not only has his smart, data-driven reforms made Fairfax’s justice system more fair and equal than ever before, Fairfax County is also the safest jurisdiction of its size in the entire country. Since taking office in 2020, Steve has implemented new diversion programs, created a data program aimed at rooting out racial and economic disparities, and restructured the office to a victim-centric prosecution model.
